Watch the Weather
This weekend’s storm systems have dramatically reduced supply in the market and driven prices up. Most of our local production was effected. We saw the market prices rise for Wild Striped Bass, Cod, Pollock, Fresh Squid, Local Fluke and local head fish. We are also seeing an increased demand for Salmon, slightly edging up prices as well. We have some great opportunities if you are looking for something a bit different. Wild Spanish Mackerel, Local John Dory, Northern Oysters from Mass, Skate Fillet, Local Fluke Fillet, and Large Bronzino from Greece. Do not forget about our Wild Caught Domestic Fresh Shrimp, & Florida Stone Crab Claws. The Sword are from South Africa with high fat content and tight red blood lines. Our Tuna is both from local boats, and Asia. Tuna prices are starting to settle down after the full moon. Call us with any questions or for a price list 718-620-8600
We Will Have an Outstanding Stand of Goods Tonight
We are very excited about our stand of Fish for tonight. We are going to have a stand filled with a variety of outstanding quality products…..Price drops on Day boat Cod, Fluke, Spanish Mackerel, Pollock, Wild Striped Bass, and Sword Fish From South Africa should make for a great fish weekend. We will have some East Coast Day boat Halibut for tonight but it will demand a premium. We are excited for the trip of Local Domestic Big Eye Tunas we are receiving tonight. We recommend sun glasses when working with our #1 cherry red tuna loins. Pricing on the tunas are starting to simmer down. Our Local Porgy fishery is now under management and will reduce supply driving prices up. Salmon prices seem to be on the rise for the end of this week. Not sure yet what next week will bring for the salmon market. Remember we also handle organic salmon as well. A great alternative to the wild salmon, at a much cheaper cost. Martha’s Vineyard, Flying Point, and Belon are the oysters of choice for the weekend. You will not find any better product from the oceans this weekend than Blue Ribbon Fish…..Call us for a price list or with any questions 718-620-8600

It would seem that the Restaurants did some business this weekend. Restaurant supply seemed to have a little more momentum than the retailers this morning. The snapper market seemed to have firmed up a bit from last week, as did wild striped bass. Plenty of local flukearound creating a great value for fillet. We received a shipment of outstanding Sword fish from South Africa. The fish are fatty with tight fire engine red bloodlines. The sword market is still a value and should remain that way through the week. The Tuna market is still on the high side especially relative to the sword market. The tunas are all high grade Yellow Fin and Big Eye from Asia and South Africa. We are expecting a domestic trip to be landed and packed today. We will see those fish for mid week. If you are looking for something a bit different, we received a shipment of hook and line Spanish Mackerel. Halibut remains very light on the supply side. We still recommend the Wild Stripers or Day boat Cod fish for the white steak fish. As we approach the holidays do not forget that Blue Ribbon is the source in NY for Wild Caught, Domestic Fresh Shrimp. Sizes for 21/25 to U/15 are in consistent supply. Please call us for a price list or if you have any questions. 718-620-8600

SNAPPER SNAPPER SNAPPER SNAPPER SNAPPER
Red Snapper would be the special of choice for the weekend. There continues to be a good supply of 2-4 and 4-6 reds at a great value. The catch for the weekend offers both Green Tails and American Snappers. Halibut continues to be light in supply. Wild Stripers or Day Boat Cod would be great choices for the white steak fish. Sword continues to be a much better value than Tuna palegically speaking. As we come around the back side of this full moon, we anticipate a better supply of Tuna which will bring the pricing down again. Plenty of great flat fish are available for Flounder and Sole minded dishes. The Jumbo Fluke are local caught from our dayboats in Long Island. They are sushi grade both bled and non-bled. We are in the thick of the Mahi Mahi season. The green yellow purple iridescence of this fish is not only exciting to receive in the kitchen, but is a nice alternative to the norm. For those of you who always think, I love Dorad, but wish we had a cheaper alternative……Our Local Day Boat Porgies are abundant and they are terrific value. Call or contact our sales staff if you have any questions or would like to receive our price list. 718-620-8600
